A plethora of new creative talent on the way...

While there is no end of music out there waiting to be performed, all this music was 'new' at some point, so I'm delighted to be involved in no less than two new works. Haddington Psalms by Nigel Don, a member of the Garleton Singers, is a very effective setting of 6 psalms for Choir, Organ, Brass & Percussion which will be performed in Spring 2021. By contrast James Robertson, a member of Edinburgh Bach Choir has written a significant and intimate setting of the Requiem - and other - texts for Choir and chamber orchestra. Both these works abound with invention and drama and, Covid allowing,  you can hear them next season!

Garleton Singers celebrate 50 years!

The Garleton Singers, the choir I have directed for over 25 years now (scary!) will be celebrating their 50th Birthday in the 20-21 season. Obviously Coronavirus has somewhat got in the way, but plans are still in the pipeline, not least the world premiere of a new work for Choir, Brass & Percussion

Missa Pachalis- revised version of my Mass for Easter is available

This setting of the Mass is based on similar settings for Christmas in that the various parts of the Mass employ lots of well-known Easter carols. A particular highlight is the inclusion of a congregation part, who also sing these tunes. An Introit, to cover the Paschal candle as its taken around the church, and a Dismissal is also included. My first publication!- 'Man's First Disobedience', especially suited for and Advent service.

I've written various things over the years, but I'm thrilled to have my Advent piece, Man's First Disobedience published by Encore Publications. Its written for Choir & Organ and sets word's of Milton's Paradise Lost. It's perfect for an Advent service, focussing on Adam. You can find specimen pages here.
